On this page we provide material and information for registered participants to the Introduction to Radiation Protection Course arranged at Nuclear Chemistry at the University of Oslo.
The course include participants both internally from UiO and from outside, e.g. research companies and hospitals that need radiation protection training.
Normally the course is the first course on radiation protection taken to qualify for work in radiochemistry laboratories. Therefore it covers a wide area and includes an introduction to radioactivity and the atomic nucleus.
In most cases you will need further on-site training before you can work unsupervised in radiochemical laboratories. Your line manager or supervisor will instruct you about this.
NOTE: Normally the course is a 3-day intensive course with physical presence at Blindern Campus. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the courses in 2021 will be teached on-line using Zoom. On-line participations for a whole day is too intense, so the on-line course has been changed to a two-week course with half-day teaching sessions.
(This schedule apply to the May 2021 course)
Links to zoom-session is in the right column in the table below. You will be asked for an pass code, this was/will be e-mailed to you on Monday (3rd of May).
